Prior to installing the fonts, you will need to uncompress the file you downloaded.
The file will have a unique file name followed by a suffix or file extension. The file extension will differ depending on the format and platform of the font.
Windows font files are zip file archives. Zip file archives have a file extension of .zip. Recent versions of Windows can unpack zip file archives and self-extracting zip files when you right click on the file and select “Extract”. Otherwise, use software such as TurboZip, WinZip, or FreeZip to unpack these files.
Mac OS font files are compressed and encoded as either .hqx or .sit files. Usually, your browser will automatically unpack these files after downloading them. By default, these files appear on the Desktop. However, if you have problems unpacking them, you can download StuffIt Expander at no charge. Once you have installed the software, you can extract the files by dragging and dropping the HQX or SIT file onto the StuffIt Expander application (rather than double-clicking on the file). This also works with .sea files.
The file I downloaded does not unpack. What can I do?
Make sure you have downloaded the latest version of WinZip, TurboZip, or FreeZip, or, for Mac OS, StuffIt Expander. Or, maybe the file may not have downloaded properly: Go to your account and download the product package again.
I Just unpacked (uncompressed) my downloaded font. Now what?
You need to move the font files (not folders) into a fonts manager such as FontBook (comes with the Mac), Suitcase Fusion, FontExplorer, FontAgent or other font management software products out there. These utilities hold your fonts until you need them. We recommend you to read up on various online reviews before deciding which one you want and then when you get it, read the loading and user instructions that come with the utility.
